Student Teaching!

So, this is the outfit I wore today for my first day of student teaching! The pants are from the Gap. I got them a few years ago for Christmas. The shirt and sweater-vest are from New York & Company. I bought the seperates as a set a few months ago over the summer, and I really liked the way the 2 colors combined. You probably can't see it that well, but the buttons on the shirt are covered by ruffles (I know, it sounds really fugly, but I think it's cute). The shoes are the same ones I wore Friday. I ended up changing from flats to heels because I figured I needed something to make me look older (also, the hem on my pants were too long for flats).

Things today went well. It was a little disorganized. Tomorrow is the start of Regents Exams, so things have been crazy. Also, I just found out that last week there was a stabbing there. So the security was super tight. It felt like I was going into prison.

Other than that, things are going well! I miss you all VERY much! I hope you're all doing well, and I love you!!

Student Teaching Orientation!!

What a bust!! What I thought was going to be a day filled with fun learning activities, was a complete waste. I learned absolutely nothing, and had to sit next to Christian the entire time. He kept on bringing up his road-trip, and how he and his lesbian ex-girlfriend are excited to come to country night tonight. However, I saw the guy I stood-up at the bar last semester (fifty-cent beer guy), and he offered to car-pool to Newburgh! It turns out that his first placement is in the same place, so I'm excited to have the company in the car, plus he's really cute :)

On another note, I'd like to say that I looked fabulous in my black wide legged trousers, plum silk top, and maroon velvet blazer. I wore the two-toned Mary-Jane's I bought from Target. Surprisingly, I got several comments on them, and they only cost me $5!! The finishing touch however, was the necklace that June and Laura bought me for Christmas last year. It certainly brought all the colors together.

Tonight I'm prepping for country night. I'm thinking of wearing a boho/off-the-shoulder top, with skinny jeans and and boots. Very bohemian. Pictures to come :)

Love you all!

Departing Dinner

So this is the outfit I wore to my departure dinner with my family. The pants are Ann Taylor, the sweater is Banana Republic, and the shoes are Steve Madden. The revelation I get from this picture is I need to work on my posing cause I am ridiculously unphotogenic.

Bon Voyage et Bon Chance

Okay, so this is my outfit for Laura's going away party. Of course I decide to dress up when we're having five people over. More than five and I give up and wear pajamas.

The empire wasted dress + a lot of black = me trying to hide the 5+ pounds I've put on over Christmas. Special thanks for that one to Sean and his fried egg sandwiches.

The dress is from Target's super post Christmas clearance, along with the shoes. The sweater tights I got from Marshalls, the cardigan was rescued from Vicki's toss pile, as was the awesome stretchy double buckle belt.
