Job Interview Outfit Anxiety

So, drum roll please... I have a job interview. It's for a part time server position at a wine bar in South Bay, and I need some serious outfit advice.

This is my "Job Interview" dress, but I'm afraid it's too fancy for the job I'm applying for.

This is pants/blouse outfit option 1

Option 2, not the best picture, but probably my top choice prior to opinions.

Option 3, I lovelovelove, but think it's too fun, not professional enough.

Basically I need some serious guidance, HELP!

  1. I personally like the black dress. From this vantage point, it doesn't seem too fancy, although maybe it has frills I can't see. When in doubt, I'd say, dress up. It's a wine bar, right? That's classy!

Out of the pants/shirt options, I do agree that the last is too casual, but I like pants option #1. The color of the top is eye-catching. I think you should demo them for us and take pictures then!

My ex pretty much called me a Facebook stalker today, so... sorry for Facebook-stalking my way to your post, but it's been a long, boring day. (:

    Best,
    Angela

  4. I lovelovelove the black dress. I saw you try it on, and thought you looked really hot in it! If you're worried that it's too fancy, you can always dress it down with a pair of flats and a little cardigan.

I really like pants option #1. That looks very professional, while looking young at the same time. If you have a cardigan, I'd wear one (Even your purple tank/sweater set would look really cute with the grey pants)!!

No matter what you choose, you'll look beautiful and professional! I love you and miss you!

  5. I definitely agree on the cardigan comments - that dress would look nice (and definitely less formal) with something over it. Then again, it is California, so maybe it's too hot to wear something like that.

I'm envious... there's supposed to be a snowstorm knocking on Boston's door any minute now...

  6. I like the pants option 1. It's nice but fun, without being fun in that your-boobs-are-out way that #3 is. I wore that same color blue today. #2 looks too much like a tuxedo shirt or something, I just like having more color I guess.
